Community Art Bash

Hosted by the Elisabet Ney Museum, Community Art Bash attendees experienced a culmination of events including the opening of the exhibition Breaking the Mold while also be a part of additional interactive one-night projects taking the shape of an installation, a dance performance, a musical performance, a guided walk, or other creative iterations reflecting local artist’s ideas and the connections between the historic environments in which they are presented.

Inspired by Elisabet Ney's history as an eclectic patriarchy-defying icon and artist, I was tasked to direct the event's identity as well as design - including developing event identity and corresponding promotional assets.

Elisabet Ney Museum

Beyond Formosa

132 years after Elisabet Ney built her home studio, Formosa, on what was then the edge of town on a prairie, and 113 years after the site became the first art museum in Austin and second in the state, the City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department in partnership with the Friends of the Elisabet Ney Museum will undertake an expansive project to create a new cultural experience for our city. For significant improvements to be made, the facility closed to the public December 30, 2024 through Summer 2026.

I was tasked with creating an identity for the site's next step, going "Beyond Formosa", and into continued programming outside of the museum and into the Hyde Park community in Austin, Texas. This consisted of a "soft launch" information period as part of 2024 Community Art Bash event, as well as continued branded communications, including but not limited to: site signage, social media promotion, presentation decks, postcard and outreach materials, etc.

Old Bakery & Emporium

Celebrating 150 Years of the Old Bakery

Built in 1876, the Old Bakery & Emporium has been on Congress Avenue for 150 years. Founded by immigrants, the first bakery in Austin marked the start of the business district. This is where political, social, and cultural leaders gathered for their daily bread.

Today, it is home to a consignment store and fine arts gallery for artists over 50 years old. In addition to fighting ageism in the art world, the Old Bakery preserves memory and legacy through its exhibitions and programs. Despite multiple attempts to destroy the integrity of the building and all it represents, the Old Bakery & Emporium is one of the few reminders of Austin’s past. It is committed to highlighting local history and honoring our talented artistic elders.

I was tasked with designing timeline panels for a special exhibition looking back on 150 years of history at the Old Bakery & Emporium (1876 - 2026). The exhibit featured many images from throughout the Old Bakery's storied history, a complete timeline of the last 150 years at the site, as well as stories from the community who have visited over the years.

On display in the Old Bakery & Emporium Fine Art Gallery from April 18th to June 6th, 2026.

Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center - Caminos Teen Leadership Program

8th Annual Breaking Barriers: Teen Mental Wellness Day

Breaking Barriers (Rompiendo Barreras) is an annual event advocating for mental health awareness created by teens, for teens, shaped and hosted by the teen interns of the ESB-MACC Caminos Teen Leadership program.

With the goal to create a space for conversation, connection, and creation–the Caminos Teen Leadership program developed Breaking Barriers as an event dedicated to spreading mental health awareness and breaking the barriers that harm and isolate our youth in their times of need.

Having assisted with the development of the event and it's branding for the last 5 years, I was again tasked with developing and implementing an identify for this event from concept to execution across channels. Social media assets, print collateral, event signage, presentation deck preparation, t-shirt and sticker designs, etc.

ESB-MACC Grand Reopening

The ESB-MACC welcomed the community back to our newly renovated facility with Juntos de Nuevo -a day of reconnection, celebration, and cultural expression. This free family-friendly event was a wonderful gathering of organizations, artists, commmunity members, founding members, and gente from all over Austin and beyond!

I was tasked with assisting with asset creation, and adopting the newly launched Austin branding into our promotional materials.
